In the footsteps of Lawrence
14 Dec 2011

In January 2012 I will be running 6 marathons on 6 consecutive days across the desert of Arabia in Jordan. I will be starting from the ancient world of Petra and head south through abandoned Roman roads and old trade routes, across the barren terrain of the Hisma and Rum deserts, and finally reach the sea at historical Aqaba. An adventure on the beauty of unordinary endeavors - getting out of one's comfort zones -, culture and endurance sport. I will retrace T.E. Lawrence's campaign, experience the life of the local beduins and explore the beauty of the desert landscape.

The ultimate goal of my journey is to raise fund for "Sports For Hope Foundation" which provides an all rounded sports' training program (swimming, running and cycling) to those under privileged children in Hong Kong between age 8‐16.

Churchill on Lawrence:
"The world looks with some awe upon a man who appears unconcernedly indifferent to home, money, comfort, rank, or even power and fame. The world feels not without a certain apprehension, that here is some one outside its jurisdiction; someone before whom its allurements may be spread in vain; some one strangely enfranchised, untamed, untrammeled by convention, moving independent of the ordinary currents of human action."
